Originally released in 1976, Ramones is the groundbreaking debut album by American punk rock pioneers the Ramones and one of the most influential records in rock history. Featuring 14 short, fast, and energetic tracks, the album helped define the sound of punk rock with its distorted guitars, rapid-fire drumming, simple melodies, and rebellious attitude. Produced by Craig Leon, the record includes iconic songs such as “Blitzkrieg Bop,” “Beat on the Brat,” “Judy Is a Punk,” and “I Wanna Be Your Boyfriend.” Recorded on a modest budget, the album became a blueprint for generations of punk, alternative, and indie rock bands. Its famous “Hey! Ho! Let's Go!” chant remains one of rock music's most recognizable moments. Celebrating 50 years of punk rock history, this anniversary edition comes pressed on 140g vinyl and features the 2016 mono remix, offering a raw and powerful listening experience that captures the band's original energy.
