Gal Costa & Caetano Veloso - Domingo
Domingo by Gal Costa and Caetano Veloso is a classic Brazilian album released in 1967, marking an important moment in the early careers of two of the country's most influential artists. Blending bossa nova, samba, and traditional Brazilian popular music (MPB), the record features delicate acoustic arrangements, gentle rhythms, and beautifully intertwined vocals. Produced before the rise of the Tropicália movement, the album captures a softer, more intimate side of both artists, exploring themes of love, longing, and everyday life. Standout tracks like “Coração Vagabundo,” “Avarandado,” and “Onde Eu Nasci Passa um Rio” showcase their poetic songwriting and effortless musical chemistry. Domingo remains an essential recording in Brazilian music history and a wonderful addition to any bossa nova or MPB vinyl collection.
