Vol. 1 is the debut studio album by Canadian experimental rock duo Angine de Poitrine, originally released in 2024. Known for their eccentric costumes, masked identities, and unconventional sound, the band blends psychedelic rock, math rock, progressive rock, and experimental music into a hypnotic listening experience. Featuring intricate microtonal guitar riffs, driving drum patterns, unusual time signatures, and unpredictable arrangements, the album pushes the boundaries of traditional rock music. Standout tracks include “Sherpa,” “Tohogd,” “Tamebsz,” and “Ababa Hotel.” With its playful energy, technical musicianship, and psychedelic atmosphere, Vol. 1 is a fascinating introduction to one of Canada's most distinctive experimental rock acts.
