The Lord of the Rings: Return of the King OST (Howard Shore)

$51.00

The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack), composed by Howard Shore, is the powerful musical culmination of the Lord of the Rings trilogy, bringing emotional and thematic closure to the saga of The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King. The score weaves together earlier leitmotifs—such as the Shire, Gondor, Rohan, and Mordor—while expanding them with massive orchestral forces, prominent choirs, and poignant solo voices to reflect sacrifice, loss, triumph, and hope. From the overwhelming intensity of the great battles to the quiet, elegiac farewell of “The Grey Havens” and the end-credits song “Into the West,” Shore’s music elevates the film’s narrative and emotional impact, earning him the Academy Award for Best Original Score and cementing the soundtrack’s reputation as one of the greatest film scores ever written.
