Released in 2021, Flowers for Vases / Descansos is the second solo studio album by Hayley Williams, best known as the lead vocalist of Paramore. Departing from the energetic pop-punk and alternative rock sound of her band, the album embraces intimate indie folk, acoustic arrangements, and atmospheric alternative music. Written and performed almost entirely by Williams herself, the record explores heartbreak, grief, loneliness, vulnerability, and personal healing. Featuring 14 tracks, standout songs include “My Limb,” “Asystole,” “Over Those Hills,” and “First Thing to Go.” With its stripped-down production, haunting melodies, and deeply personal lyrics, Flowers for Vases / Descansos offers a raw and emotional listening experience, revealing a quieter and more introspective side of one of alternative rock's most recognizable voices.
