Don Omar - Los Bandoleros (2LP)
Los Bandoleros (2005), a compilation spearheaded by Don Omar, is a pivotal release in reggaetón’s international rise, bringing together some of the genre’s biggest stars at the time. The project showcases the raw energy and street narratives that defined the early 2000s reggaetón movement, blending infectious dembow rhythms with themes of loyalty, struggle, and celebration of urban culture. Featuring collaborations with artists like Tego Calderón, Héctor el Father, and Wisin & Yandel, the album served both as a unifying showcase of reggaetón’s leading voices and as a statement of the genre’s growing power beyond Puerto Rico. With its mix of anthemic tracks and underground grit, Los Bandoleros helped cement Don Omar’s reputation as one of reggaetón’s most important figures and a key architect of its global expansion.
